“For I said in my haste, ‘I am cut off from before Your eyes’; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried out to You.”
— Psalm 31:22 (NKJV)
Fear has a loud voice. In the middle of the storm, it can convince us that God has stepped away.
David knew that feeling. In his distress he cried, “I am cut off from before Your eyes.” But that wasn’t the truth. It was only what his soul felt in the moment.
Because God had heard him.
Your feelings cannot cancel God’s faithfulness. You may feel forgotten. Heaven may seem silent. But God’s silence never means God’s absence.
Notice what David says: “You heard the voice of my supplications.” Not just You saw my pain, but You heard my voice. The cry of a broken heart reaches the throne of God. The prayer whispered through tears does not vanish into the dark.
Maybe today your heart is asking, “Lord, where are You?”
Here is the answer: He is closer than your feelings can tell you.
So don’t read your season by what you feel. Read it by what God has said.
There may be nights when you cannot see His hand. But there is never a night when He stops hearing your voice.
Your cry has reached Him.
Your prayer has been heard.
Your faith is not in vain.
Keep praying. Keep believing. The God who heard David still hears you.
Prayer: Lord, when I feel far from You, remind me that You are near. Thank You for hearing every cry, even the ones I can’t put into words. Help me trust Your Word above my feelings. Amen.
